Under the band name ‘Imano’ Seattle musician Sharon Lord released the record ‘Beyond Tears’ in 1998, scorching her little patch of earth with “the smartest, most honest thing I had ever done”. It was getting great response due to its raw, urgent message. The bad news is she abandoned the record and Seattle and all possibilities before she could get a foothold.
A second record followed several years later, followed by several studio recordings of new songs. But she could never find a new starting point.
After being away from Seattle a long time, Sharon decided to return in 2020 to come to terms with her regret and ground herself anew as a performer with much to share.
The show at the Erickson is her biggest leap to fulfill a long delayed dream... to play in a theatre, with great musicians, a horn section, background singers... bringing her songs to life in the biggest way possible.
